Eastern Conference Finals

May 15th, 2009

The NHL has posted the Conference Finals schedules.

The Penguins (#4 seed) will meet the Carolina Hurricanes (#6 seed), with home ice advantage, at the Mellon Arena beginning Monday, May 18. Game 2 is Thursday, May 21. Games 3 and 4 are at Carolina on Saturday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 26. Game 5 (if necessary) is Friday, May 29 at Mellon Arena; Game 6 (if necessary) is Sunday, May 31 at Carolina, and Game 7 (if necessary) is Tuesday, June 2 at Mellon Arena.

All games are at 7:30pm and will be nationally televised on Versus. Games 1-2 will be on TSN; games 3-7 will be on CBC.

(I’m pretty sure they’re trying to make sure the Stanley Cup Finals will conflict with the WWDC on purpose.)

PitchCalc

May 10th, 2009

I’ve submitted my first application to the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch App Store, called PitchCalc. It calculates the frequencies of various equal-tempered pitches with tuning offsets and displays the frequency ratios between them.

As of May 10, 2009, I’m awaiting approval so it’s not yet available for download.

Boston: If the Capitals beat the Rangers and the Devils beat the Hurricanes. (And the Caps would play the Devils. 1 vs 4; 2 vs 3.)

Washington: If the Capitals beat the Rangers and the Hurricanes beat the Devils. (And the Bruins would play the Canes. 1 vs 6; 2 vs 4.)

New Jersey: If the Rangers beat the Capitals and the Devils beat the Hurricanes. (And the Bruins would play the Rangers. 1 vs 7; 3 vs 4.)

Carolina: If the Rangers beat the Capitals and the Hurricanes beat the Devils. (And the Bruins would play the Rangers. 1 vs 7; 4 vs 6.)

(Notice that it’s not possible for the Penguins to meet the Rangers next. If the Rangers beat the Caps, they’ll face the Bruins and the Pens will play the Canes-Devils winner.)

New Blog!

April 12th, 2009

Hi folks. It’s been a while since I updated my web site, but I’ve been meaning to replace it with something more interesting for a while. I’ve also been meaning to set up a blog for a while. So put the two together and I’ve replaced my site with a blog.

And here it is. Hopefully I’ll update this on a more regular basis than I ever updated the old www.djehuti.com web site.
